Yes. I realized later that XSL-FO was not the only
solution to get formatted output as XSL-FO is to XML what
CSS2 is to HTML. i.e add formatting markup to XML content.

XSL-FO is an XML vocabulary for the specification of content layout.
XSL-FO is normally the output vocabulary of a dedicated XSLT stylesheet.
CSS applies style directly to XML or HTML.

My apologies here. What I meant by eBook was formatting an
XML document into an eBook suitable for rendering on a
palmtop or a eBookReader. Again, this may not exist as of
now but should be possible using XSL-FO.
I don't speak for any vendors, but again I'd think this unlikely,
perhaps XSLT from a common XML to a non binary ebook format?
