Wellknown facts about browser support of XSLT (Was: Re: [xsl] xsl:variable with hex color values)

Maybe to avoid such long threads in the future and ultimately save
time for everybody, the FAQ for the xsl-list should include the fact
that at present IE 6 uses MSXML 3, Firefox/Netscape uses TransforMiiX,
which even does not have support for the xxx:node-set() extension
function. Safari supports XSLT 1.0 via libxslt.

All this is XSLT 1.0.

So, in short, no known browser today has support for XSLT 2.0 (and
this is logically due to the fact that there isn't any XSLT 2.0 W3
recommendation yet).

and also include this link:

   http://www.w3schools.com/xml/xml_browsers.asp

which hopefully will be kept up-to-date in the future.

Probably, it would be a good idea to specify the varying degree to
which each of these platforms has some support for EXSLT.

XMLSpy includes an XSLT 1.0 processor and a 2.0 processor. Which one did you

I've looked into several options under XMLSpy but couldn't find which
one was selected. Meanwhile I read your other mail and decided to change
the XSL document and write the solution in XSLT 1.0 as you pointed some
mails before and it worked out, so it figures out that the browsers I'm
using (Firefox and IE) don't have XSLT 2.0 processors.

Thanks for all the help, Rolando.
