Re: Copy element but transform sub-element

This is a FFFAQ

start with an identity template 

<xsl:template match="*">
  <xsl:copy>
  <xsl:copy-of select=""@*"/>
  <xsl:apply-templates/>
  </xsl:copy>
</xsl:template>

Then just add  extra templates for elements where you want to do
something:

<xsl:template match="article">
  <CHANGED ARTICLE>
  <xsl:apply-templates/>
  </CHANGED ARTICLE>
</xsl:template>
