I don't think <xsl:apply-templates /> will work, because I can't match
the <item> tag as there are other parts of the app which use it.
ah why didn't yopu say that before?
That's what modes are for stick mode="lasdfhafhgafjh" on the templates
that do this and then use <xsl:apply-templates mode="lasdfhafhgafjh"/>
to use (just) those templates.
