Yes sorry failed to mention the key point of length being 255 for this input:

<words>
<word>aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa</word>

No my confusion was/is that your original problem description had input
a comma separated list of words as a single string, and the new version
has a set of word elements. Do you want the words to be concatenated
first to a comma separated list (then tokenised again to split on the
comma, then split into length 255?
