(strange: a search for getCompiledGlobalVariables returns 3
results on Google, of which none points to saxonica docs ;)
I get 3 hits, two of which are the Saxon javadoc on Wolfgang Hoschek's site,
the other one being the same javadoc on the Saxonica site. Not that I would
expect people to guess the method names!
