Well no, it wasn't really, but it wasn't _completely_ false either:-)

 and one that means XQuery source text isn't accessible to XML-based
 tools.

unless of course some kind soul provides an XML view of the XQuery
source to allow it to be transformed with XML tools such as XSLT.
No different from some other person doing the same for GEDCOM (except
that in that case it was done right by providing a SAX parser, as opposed
to doing a transform to a literal xml document which is then parsed to
provide the sax events to the XML tool.
