Hmm. (Using Saxon 8) When I put the small file as input on
the command line, the process chokes -- Java throws a fit.
When I put the big file on the command line, it runs
properly. Interesting.
Probably not important, but I thought I'd follow up with a
bit of empirical results. :-)
It's entirely plausible that one algorithm should use a lot more memory than
another, but without seeing the code, it's not possible to contribute any
insights.
