Pure JDK 1.4.2 means virtually nothing what isn't inside of
rt.jar by default. Beside of the company written code, of course.
Sounds like a company that hasn't yet learnt the benefits of component-based
development. Sad really. I thought that's what Java was all about.
Depends. They even use Maven 2 for their (not very little) software
projects. The thoughts behind are to keep the software deployment as
little as possible - and AFAIK this is a customer requirement. It may be
a licence problem, too, because it's not open source development.
