In xslt 1 you may not use variables in match patterns. This is fixed in
xslt 2, but if you are stuck with xslt 1 then you have to use
<xsl:template match="xs:all>
<xsl:choose>
<xsl:when test="../parent::xs:element(_at_)name=$class]">
... do something
</xsl:when>
<xsl:otherwise>
<xsl:copy-of select="."/>
</xsl:otherwise>
</xsl:choose>
