title is not an ancestor of row. it is a child of the table that is an
ancestor of row. also you want an ancestor of the row not an ancestor of
every descendant of the row

so not

//ancestor::db:title[1]
^^             ^^^^^^^^

but instead

/ancestor::db:table[1]/db:title[1]
^             ^^^^^^^
