Hi Everyone,

We run our book source through xmllint before making the book and
checking in sources to version control.

We would like to format the sources so paragraphs have a break at 80
or 90 chracters.

I'd suggest using XSLT, with xsltproc.

http://users.atw.hu/xsltcookbook2/xsltckbk2-chp-7-sect-6.html
may do what you want, wth some modification.

The --format option to xmllint doesn't reflow text.
