Well, it was not too dificult. Patches sent to Eric, as they must be applied
to 5.7.2 on top of my NLS build fixes (which are too extensive to send
here). Anyone who is dying for them, just fetch the Debian fetchmail (or
fetchmail-ssl) package version 5.7.2-4 from http://incoming.debian.org/
which I'll be uploading shortly.
BTW, one must either not have autoconf/automake installed in the system, or
have it installed properly (otherwise the build can break and corrupt
aclocal.m4 and configure.in).
