Hi,
We have an installation of Fetchmail that has the 'Authorization
Failure' problem when it sends a 'CAPA' request to a POP-3 server:
Mar 25 05:24:44 mailserv fetchmail[806]: Authorization failure on
4itstaff(_dot_)bdx(_dot_)co(_dot_)uk(_at_)195(_dot_)92(_dot_)193(_dot_)154
Mar 25 05:24:44 mailserv fetchmail[806]: Query status=3 (AUTHFAIL)
I have read previous mails saying that this only occurs the first
time it connects to the server, but this does not seem to be the case here.
fetchmail does recover and connect properly (and sends a warning notice to
the user) and eventaully fails to connect again. There is no discernable
pattern to this. Looking at a verbose log, it is recieving an 'Authenticate
First' when the CAPA command is issued.
Is there any way to disable the use of the CAPA command
completetely, or to suppress the messages that the user recieves when
authentication is sucessful (but keep other, possibly important messages
from Fetchmail)?
Thanks in advance,
Dave
