Hi!
I am using fetchmail over a DSL line and have often problems with DNS lookups
in fetchmail. The version I use is:
This is fetchmail release 5.8.17+NLS
Linux gateway-tetz 2.2.16 #1 Wed Aug 2 20:22:26 GMT 2000 i686 unknown
At first I used the fetchmail package from SuSE 7.0, but since I had the DNS
problems I use fetchmail 5.8.17. Other programs like squid or other clients
in the local network that use this DSL router do not have DNS problems, funny
enough.
The error messages I get are as follows:
fetchmail: couldn't find canonical DNS name of pop.btx.dtag.de
fetchmail: couldn't find canonical DNS name of pop.kundenserver.de
fetchmail: couldn't find canonical DNS name of pop.kundenserver.de
fetchmail: couldn't find canonical DNS name of pop.gmx.net
all mailserver name lookups failed, exiting
Any idea what might be the cause of this?
Arne
