FW: [fetchmail] X-Fetchmail-Warning: and multidrop

2002-10-14 12:13:26
Rob,
Thanks for taking the time to reply, Im using fetchmail release
5.9.7+RPA+NTLM+SDPS+SSL+NLS and Postfix-20010228-pl08.

I have previously tried aka maildomain.com and this didn't work, I did
however find an example and have realised that the aka domain should be
mydomain.com.

Now any mail matching my usernames are dropped to the correct place. So I
just have to think about /figure out how to get the rest sent to the
postmaster.

Kind Regards, and once again thanks for your time
Mark.

Hi guys,
I'm having multidrop problems with a POP3 catch all account.

My fetchmail is as follows:
# Put here each user config
set postmaster "mark"
set bouncemail
set no spambounce
set properties ""

poll mail.mydomain.com
        proto pop3
        user "user"
        pass "pasword"
        to 'steve'='steve' 'neil'='neil' here

The problem I'm getting is that all mail is being dropped in user mark's
mail account a sample as follows:

From mark(_dot_)kidd(_at_)btinternet(_dot_)com Sun Oct 13 22:26:16 2002
Delivered-To: mark(_at_)localhost(_dot_)mydomain(_dot_)com
Delivered-To: user(_at_)mail13(_dot_)maildomain(_dot_)com
Date: Sun, 13 Oct 2002 22:21:09 0100 (BST)
From: mark(_dot_)kidd(_at_)btinternet(_dot_)com
To: neil(_at_)mydomain(_dot_)com
Subject: 20
Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
X-MAILER: talk21.com WAS v2
X-UIDL: 2>Q!!Z>F"!d/Y"!:#8"!
X-Fetchmail-Warning: recipient address neil(_at_)mydomain(_dot_)com didn't
match any
local name

twenty

So what am I doing wrong, I've read the manual about eight times and thats
just today.

I've also trawled the mail archives and tried localdomains specification but
then the mail gets bounced back by maildomain.com server for looping.

Best Regards
Mark.

First question - version of fetchmail? Second question - what mail server
are you using?

If your mail server supports "mydomain.com" as a domain and recognises a
user "neil" then you should be fine. If you can't configure that then try
setting "smtpaddress" to be a supported domain.

Please DO NOT send me ANY email directly unless it's a privacy issue.
Reply-to mangled to assist those who don't read the above.
