Arrrggggh!!!!
I've been applying all these patches, and installing fetchmail, but was
running
the wrong one all the time.
I'm using Slackware 9.0, and installing in /usr/local/bin
and I used the "which" command to find the fetchmail it would run:
<~> which fetchmail
/usr/local/bin/fetchmail
But - that was wrong!
After digging around, I discovered that "which" must have a bug - it is
wrong!
Bash was actually running /usr/bin/fetchmail [I had to change fetchmail's
config.h VERSION
to finally track this down, all I can say is aarrghhh....]
So, back to the fetchmail story.
Slackware ships with a built version, and a source version
pre-built: slackware-9.0/slackware/n/fetchmail-6.2.2-i386-1.tgz
sources: slackware-9.0/source/n/fetchmail/fetchmail-6.2.2.tar.gz
If I use the pre-built version, it always fails with error 15
If I use the sources, do a configure (no arguments), and then a build,
using that version it works all the time! No patches needed...
I'm stumped...
