This is all well and good, but it still doesn't say why it suddenly
spits out dns related ( looks like ) errors around the same point...
I'm sure i've used it for this size file before.
Are you sure it is fetchmail and not the DNS-Server which refuse ?
Maybe you have to much DNS-Requests
If you poll each $USER seperatly, fetchmal makes every time a DNS-lookup.
