My ISP is using Maillenium 4.0c and occasionally the mail is getting

delete the offending message, but that seems rediculous.

I had the same problem with my ISP a while ago, after they switched the
mail to Yahoo, but it's been OK for the past few months. One thing I
noticed, is that it was always spam that got stuck.

If mail gets stuck, please re-run the most current fetchmail version
with -vv, and if you aren't using SSL, also run tcpdump with some large
-s value and -w option to capture the whole session (before sending in
the dump, change your mail password, as the dump will contain your
password!) and tell us where we can download the tcpdump output
file (it's probably a good idea to bzip2 the file).
