On the subject of richtext and the latest draft...<nl><nl>

Your example C program for downgrading richtext to plain text will<nl>
behave rather badly if it finds a badly formated text. In particular<nl>
an End-of-file occuring either inside a token or inside a comment.<nl>
This message shows both problems.<nl>
e.g <comment> or <comment will break things badly. Now do other richtext
interpreters handle this - it core dumps on my system!
