Excerpts from mail: 25-Oct-91 Re: My "samples" directory Valdis

Can you do us a favor and comment on what sorts of errors your samples
were riddled with?
Well, most of them were mis-labelled types, left over from old versions
of the RFC. For example, things labelled "pbm" instead of "image/pbm",
or "image/pbm" instead of "image/gif". Also, my quoted-printable
algorithm was screwing up and letting DEL (0177) characters through
literally.
All in all, they were not very instructive as examples of bad-format
XXXX mail, but just reflected carelessness on my part. (Most of them
were hand-built.) It might be smart, however, to start another
directory of more interesting badly-formatted messages that people could
use to test their implementations for robustness.
