John points out my biggest nervousness about both the audio and the
checksum ideas: they are last minute additions in areas where I am
largely ignorant, and it is kind of scary because I can't tell if it is
a mistake. WIth checksums, the ongoing debate make me feel more than
ever that they should be punted to a separte document. WIth audio, the
fact that Marshall's proposal is getting little argument either means
that it is flat-out correct or that we have NO audio expertise on this
mailing list, and I can't tell which.
