I want to make an external reference (using MIME) to a
compressed postscript file that's available by anonymous FTP.
The expected action of the reader software would be to download
the file in image mode, uncompress it, and then feed it to
whatever handles application/postscript.
Does "compress" take the format of a Content-transfer-encoding
header, or should it be an option to the Content-type header?
Either way (or another way entirely) is fine by me, so long as
it's generally accepted as reasonable. The goal is to MIME-ize
an index file for a directory full of technical reports wihc
are in postscript (the neuroprose collection, to be exact), so
that it's possible to fetch a pointer to a file and then have
the postscript come heading back to you as you need it.
