Don't you get problems when decoding the multipart message then?

I may be a littllle bit to blame here because I haven't yet responded to
Patrik's queries about how to do the multipart/appledouble stuff with
metamail.  I think that this can be done, though.  I think that a
metamail handler for it could parse the parts and put them into /tmp
files, and set an enviornment variable that told where they could be
found.  (It could be done more efficiently, of course, if metamail had
knowledge of the key multipart/header-set type built in.)  In other
owrds, I don't think this is a problem; we could arrange it so that when
the handler for application/applefile was called, there would be an
environment variable set (or perhaps some other mechanism) that listed
the parts that have been squirreled away already.

In short, I think the model can be made to work with metamail. -- NB
