How? It seems to only apply to "application" as far as I can see now.
But, even if this is true, we are introducing exactly the same kind
of thing with "-xml" (a cross-"Content-Type" parameter, albeit
encoded in the subtype name). Perhaps we should just say that this is
a good place to start violating that rule?
(2) It encodes information in a parameter that is immutable -- that
is, every instance of application/iotp is XML.
But this might not be true for other subtypes.
