Exactly. There is currently no one place where all the variants are
documented. The URL provided in the draft may be the best available, but
URLs are ephemeral and should not be relied on for normative purposes.
There is nothing inherently wrong with defining the full format of a new
media type in the document that introduces that type (though it is not
necessary if some document elsewhere can be referenced).

So here we have an opportunity to document it, which would have the added
advantage of preventing yet more variations in the future.
