Anytime we want to get involved with DNS, we must keep in mind the current
state of security of the entire DNS system. If we end up defining some form
of a DNS-based standard, perhaps we should mandate the use of secure DNS.
Speaking of the current state of security of the entire DNS system,
have you been watching the years long saga of DNSSEC? Given the local
rule that deployment considerations matter, are you sure you'd want
to tie any spam defense to DNSSEC?
