I also agree that alternative proposals should continue to be
worked on. If it turns out that we do need to replace SMTP in order
to make things work, we had better be prepared with multiple
proposals.
The bold steps must, by necessity, be taken by individual mavericks.
If you're going to be that far out, be prepared for a lot of
arrows coming your way. And shotgun blasts. And bullets from
buffalo rifles from over a mile away.
Don't be surprised if you find me as one of the people aiming
your direction. I can assure you that I'm going to be damn hard to
convince.
