Perhaps not surprisingly, I was thinking about Heisenberg too.

Or, at least, the "Cockroach Uncertainty Principle".  Spammers, like
cockroaches, behave differently when you shine a light on them.

by the way this is one reason why I, personally, prefer to accept spam in
full, instead of rejecting during the SMTP transaction, greylisting, or
tarpitting.   It's more practical to test and instrument that way, and
thereby get a solid idea of FP rates, instead of guesstimation.

Which is why we do that too ;-)
