Jim,
"permitting a signing domain to claim responsibility"
and
"DKIM separates the question of the identity of the signer of the message
from the purported author of the message. In particular, a signature includes
the identity of the signer."
do specify a single output value, because "a signing domain" and "the identity
of the signer" do not simply state a purpose; they state and constrain a
function.
Please start by considering the use of "a" and its definition.
In the context of the ADSP draft, you have said that text in the draft
(which has been through WG and IETF last call) doesn't necessarily mean
that there was WG consensus, unless there had also been substantial
mailing list discussion on the topic. Now you're saying that text in
the document is evidence of WG consensus.
You can't have it both ways.
Care to cite the specific postings that you are suggesting provide some sort of
contradictory statements?
