Jim,
"permitting a signing domain to claim responsibility"
and
"DKIM separates the question of the identity of the signer of the message
from the purported author of the message. In particular, a signature includes
the identity of the signer."
do specify a single output value, because "a signing domain" and "the
identity
of the signer" do not simply state a purpose; they state and constrain a
function.
Complete and utter rubbish revisionist history. "Includes" means exactly
what it says: one piece of information in a set. Whether the verifier
considers
that most important or even a relevant piece of information is via 6.3:
"beyond the scope of this specification"
Section 6 is The section that describes what a Verifier
must perform. It says absolutely nothing about "output",
"primary" or anything else of the sort. It is purposefully
vague. If you don't like that, try to respin another PS;
trying to slip this in as an errata is an abuse of process.
