My feeling is that it conflicts with too many (would-be) industry third
parties' self interest in
selling reputation/policy, and hence why the FUD bullhorn was on full blast
through the entire
exercise, and remains on to this day. If DKIM itself were given the same
treatment, we'd be looking
at the same sorry stats for it. That vested interests don't like something
isn't an indication of
absolute worth, it's just an indication of its worth with respect to their
perceived bottom line.
