consent exist help us in designing automated email signatures system?

a mechanism to achieve an end?

I think Phillip is suggesting the latter, whereas most people on this list seem
hung up with the former.

Personally, I think we want to end up with handles and attributes that let us
decide email disposition. Authenticated domains are clearly an important
attribute but provable subscription to a list could easily be more valuable
than the outcome of an authentication process.
