Unfortunately this is not quite as trivial as it seems. I believe that
PTR records are not the easiest records for the domain owner
(especially the owner of small domains) to have control over.

This was not referring to a reverse DNS lookup. This record type is
being used in much the same manner as with the DNA draft but using the
_mp._smtp.xxxx.xxx sub-domain. This would be a forward lookup and
something easily within the control of the domain owner.
