We can't predicts the future.

Right now, my understanding is that RSA, DSA, ECDSA, and EdDSA are the
only signing keys / algorithms. Is this correct?

RSA and DSA are specified by RFC-4880.  ECDSA is specified by RFC-6637.
EdDSA ist not yet specified for OpenPGP (and unfortunately the work on
an RFC to describe this algo and other new curves has been deferred).
