RE: SigningTime

1997-11-12 15:06:56
Hi,

As an additional option, a new attribute might be defined called
TimeStampToken (for the cases in which trusted time is required on a
message and trusted time stamp servers exist in a network). See

     ftp://ds.internic.net/internet-drafts/draft-adams-time-stamp-00.txt

for details.

All,

The PKCS #9 spec defines the SigningTime attribute to be UTCTime.

Propose that a new attribute should be defined called NewSigningTime that is
defined as a GeneralizedTime. If the WG agrees, then a new OID would need
to be defined to identify NewSigningTime. If the WG agrees, then the ESS
spec should be enhanced to include NewSigningTime and recommend its use
instead of SigningTime.
