At the moment it is the IESG's responsibility to produce such
statements and it is currently the IESG's responsibility to
hear appeals etc. That *seems* like a very different task
from reviewing documents or keeping a WG within charter
and working to its millstones.

This kind of re-factoring is the most appealing proposal
I've seen so far in these threads. As I understand it,
it would replace the functional block currently labeled
"IESG" with multiple specialized blocks, which would be
able to process their respective workloads largely
independently.

Separating WG management, document management, appeals
management, and policy stuff would not only reduce the
workload suffered by each serving individual, but would
also allow us to make use of people with somewhat narrower
skillsets than IESG service currently demands.
