RFC 3005 establishes the charter for the IETF discussion list. It provides for
the IETF Chair to appoint sergeants-at-arms to help manage inappropriate or
abusive postings to this list.
For many years, Jordi Palet and Ted Ts’o have been serving as
sergeants-at-arms. With an eye towards giving new folks an opportunity to
experience the role, Jordi and Ted are rotating out of this role. Ben Kaduk and
Matt Miller have agreed to serve as new sergeants-at-arms.
Please join me in thanking Jordi and Ted for their dedicated service to the
IETF and to keeping this list running smoothly! And please welcome Ben and Matt
into the role.
