MHonArc version tag ruins HTTP headers from PHP

Is there an option, or any way (except hacking the source) to prevent
MHonArc from putting the <!-- MHonArc ...> version tag on top of each
page?

I have a PHP session management script first in top.rc (and other resource
files) and that script should run _before_ any other output. The version
tag added by MHonArc precedes the script and induces Apache to send HTTP
headers to the client too early, which will ruin the session management.
