The configure step works well. I changed the config.h file for setting

Unfortunately, the mkstemp routine is not available, although mktemp is
available. Is there an option somewhere for using the second one in
place of the first one, or should I try to program mkstemp using mktemp?

I've attached the mktemp/mkstemp routines from Berkeley/NetII that I use
under Ultrix. To make this "just work", you should do something like:

      - Name this file sbr/mkstemp.c
      - Add 'mkstemp' to the 'AC_REPLACE_FUNCS(snprintf strerror strdup)'
        line in 'configure.in'
      - Run 'autoconf'
      - Run 'autoheader'
      - Run 'make distclean'
      - Run './configure'
      - Run 'make'

Note that I didn't test the above!
