The attached patch fixes two problems with
configure.in.
The first problem is that the check for broken vi
attempts to write in the root directory instead of the
current directory. Changing "/nonexist-file" to
"./nonexist-file" fixes this.
The second problem is that recent versions of the gdbm
library have moved the dbm compatibility routines to
the gdbm_compat library. I modified configure.in to
check for this and link with the appropriate
libraries.
