i committed a band-aid fix for this to cvs, back in april - see
<URL:http://article.gmane.org/gmane.mail.exmh.devel/977>.
the debian versions since 2.7.2-22 (ie. testing and unstable)
include that fix.
I found that fix when researching the problem. But I believe that it
doesn't really get to the root of the problem. Specifically:
- The Tk documentation says you can still use X font specifications to
specify fonts.
- However, when you do that with a semicondensed font (which is what "fixed"
ends up resolving to) you get an entirely different font. It doesn't matter
if you used "fixed" or the full font name; doesn't work, you get something
else.
That seems like a Tk bug to me. Okay, exmh is still using the Old World
Order font stuff. But that should still end up with the same fonts as
it did before.
