Hi David,

The BNF shows exactly one, so I'd say the messages don't conform. Are
they from more than one source?

had Eric receiving emails with multiple MIME-Versions last year.

thanks for that pointer.

the following patch accomplishes this: all MIME-Version headers are

Looks good to me.

I'm unhappy the warning has been removed and not let on by default. I
like to know when I get sent bum emails and complain. Fix the
Internets!

i'm all for helping to keep the internet on the straight and narrow.
i've submitted a report at simplemachines.org about their multiple
mime version fields, and i'll follow up with them.

but honestly, worrying too much about benign extra trailing
semicolons, and benign duplication of correct version number
information seems ludicrous, in the face of far more egregious
standards abuse, like the misuse of multiple/alternative (i.e., the
parts should contain the same data in multiple formats). we seem to
have given up on that one years ago.

i suppose the answer is to have mhfixmsg nuke the offensive duplicate
header(s), or to create a new commandline option to enable benign
warnings about marginally malformed messages. (i continue to believe
that the change i made represents the correct out-of-the-box
behavior.)

Ken did get an upstream producer of broken emails to apply his patch
last year IIRC. A PHP library, perhaps, used by Wordpress. So it is
worth hearing of these problems.

Cheers, Ralph.
