You know, if the issue is THAT (what you send in the SMTP HELO/EHLO
dialog, which you can confirm via the -snoop flag to send), THAT is
changeable directly in nmh without having to do anything else to
your system. Look at the man page for mts.conf, specifically the
"clientname" parameter.
Perfect! Yes, that was the whole problem (having elements in my
email headers that made the messages look suspicious). That
worked, and was the better solution than my mucking with the
/etc/hosts file.
