Those fare no better than command line arguments. See 'ps e' :)
I think that needs /proc/*/environ read permission, or similar, so a
user only sees their own process's environment variables with 'e'?
That seems to vary based on operating system. E.g., I can see the
environment of processes owned by 'root' as a plain user on MacOS X (and
that's what I'm familiar with; Linux seems to be the exception here).
