Turning this around ... all we really care about is LC_CTYPE.
Historically, MH and nmh have set LC_ALL. Should we just set
LC_CTYPE instead?
You mean setlocale(LC_ALL, "")? Which really means "Just take everything
from the environment", right?
Sigh. I don't know. I see arguments for both. Personally, to me this
is another argument that we shouldn't be doing this AT ALL, but that bridge
has been crossed already :-/ I was only pointing out that if the concern
is really that changing your locale messes up your prefered collation,
fixing that is trivial.
