It's very unintuitive, well, wrong, that a `cd' command at a command's
prompt doesn't change the current working directory as far as all other

cd work. If it can't be fixed then whatnow(1) could do with pointing it
out.

Well, yeah.

Being able to do `cd' and `ls' at an nmh prompt, when MH's raison d'être
is to intermingle its commands with the shell's, always seemed wrong.

Well, yeah, but I use them.

Anyway, whilst I'm here, grumbling,

    $ comp -ed false
    whatnow: problems with edit--draft left in /home/ralph/mail/drafts/,42

I see your point but don't feel strongly about it. It looks like it was
intentional, and has been that way for nearly 27 years (though the
error message changed along the way):

----------------------------
revision 1.2
date: 1990/01/29 16:28:13; author: sources; state: Exp; lines: +2 -2
when edit fails, delete draft by renaming to m_backup(draft)
----------------------------

Should be easy to fix if you want.
