(Part of the problem has been that I have a too up to date install of nmh,
and thus
no mhn manpage remaining that says more than "deprecated".
You'd have to go back at least 18 years. The current src has
docs/historical/mh-6.8.5/doc/mhn.me. It's also available at
http://git.savannah.nongnu.org/cgit/nmh.git/plain/docs/historical/mh-6.8.5/doc/mhn.me
though a grep for build fails.
