I agree nmh ships thinking %4 is big enough for anybody. That's
fine. Your folders don't have any messages numbers that need more
than four digits so why do you notice this bug?

Yep, and I'd been talking about the message numbers, and you confirmed
it had `%4(msg)'...
%5(size), and I get a number of messages that are larger than 99999
bytes.
...so I didn't spot the other number that could overflow. :-)
This is more likely to occur than a user putting up with `?' in their
message number on a regular basis so it looks like a 1.7.1 might be
needed. Still probably worth waiting a bit for other faults to appear.
If this fault started in 2014, does that mean you've been blissfully
using 1.6 rather than git ever since? Wouldn't other new features have
been noticeably absent? :-)
