Steve,
As a consultant operating out of my home, I would hope to register as
a very small organization (just me), with a PCA that doesn't charge
much and doesn't require a lot of legal paperwork, e.g., the mid-level
assurance PCA Jeff Schiller described at the Santa Fe meeting.
Three questions related to operating out of your house.
1. What would you view as a reasonable charge?
This is a very real question. We're actively trying to work out a
reasonabl;e scale for PCA services. There's an argument that says
the cost of signing up anyone for anything is non-trivial, and
another argument that says it's important to keep the entry cost
low. There's also an issue of whether the process is bare bones or
includes some help.
2. What kind of paperwork would you view as tolerable?
Another very real question. Do you have the right to use STK
Associates? How would you feel about having to provide a notarized
copy of your business license?
3. If you took on a partner or assistant, would you expect to be able
to register him/her? If so, would you expect to do it entirely
yourself, apply to the PCA for an additional certificate, or what?
Thanks,
Steve
